Laura Vlková comes from a family of musicians. She started to play the piano at the age of six.
She graduated from the Prague Conservatory, the class of prof. Jaroslav Čermák (1987-1993), and Music Faculty of Akademie Muzickych umeni v Praze (Academy of Performing Arts in Prague) at doc. Miroslav Langer (1993-1998)
Besides solo and chamber music she has been cooperating for a lot of years with Čestmír Stašek and his Prague Children´s Choir which she performed with in round of radio, television, film makings and concerts inland and abroad (Germany, the Netherlands, France, England, Italy, Ukraine, the USA, Lebanon).
In 1995 Laura Vlková and a sax-o-phonist Roman Fojtíček together founded SAX & PIANO DUO which brings original music as well as transcribed one. Repertory of the duo is very various and it ranges from late baroque up to works of the end of the 20th century including the last news.
She cooperated in doing an original Czech musical Dracula (1995) with oustanding actors and actresses, and in 2000 also in a musical Hrabě Monte Christo (Monte Christo) by the couple of authors Karel Svoboda – Zdeněk Borovec.
She works pedagogically in Prague for the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and College (www.kjj.cz).
Her artistic life is diversified by a cooperation with a theatre (performance about Antonín Dvořák with the National Theatre Drama actor Oldřich Vlček), television, film, concert activities and studio recording for Czech Radio.
